The decision to move away from my home town of Auckland, to study Architecture in Wellington has been one of the hardest, testing and most enjoyable periods of my life. This period has allowed myself and my passion for design to grow exponentially.
I have a passion for Residential Architecture, however I understand that I am a young graduate who has a lot to learn before I can even begin to think about specialising. My dream is to enter high-end residential architecture by the end of my career.
The design of the 'home', is very important to me. To be able to design architecture which accommodates for users personal and/or family growth is an exciting premise for my career. I feel that residential architecture has a more personal and connective architectural statement than that of commercial. The tactility and phenomenological implications of homes, and how the architecture is constantly interacting with, and altering the way that its users carry out their day-to-day life is very interesting to me.
However, as a young graduate I understand how important it is for me to educate myself in all aspects of architecture so that I can grow into a competent and fully qualified New Zealand Registered Architect.
